Nish Wadada, or Eunice Vieira, was born in the Netherlands to Cape Verdean parents and began her artistic career singing backup with zouk and pop bands such as Livity, but began to look for something more profound, delving into the world of reggae as a backing vocalist of a reggae band called the "Delidel Touch", made up of Cape Verdeans and Antilleans living in the Netherlands. This experience led her to embrace the Rastafarian philosophy.
